Two huge successes for the NRB Academy

This week at NR Barton we have received some fantastic news regarding two of our members of staff, Georgia Winters and Jack Dawber-Axon. Both Georgia and Jack have joined NR Barton within the last 12 months and were both at different stages of their ACCA qualifications at the time.

Since joining the firm, both Georgia and Jack have gelled with the team extremely well and have developed significantly within their roles and, in light of their recent exam successes, we would like to share a little paragraph on both of their journeys within accountancy so far.

Georgia Winters:

Originally from Chapel-En-Le-Frith in the High Peak, Georgia has recently moved into her first house in the Wigan area. Her accountancy journey began in 2014 after leaving high school at the age of 16. She then immediately began studying towards her AAT qualification which she then finished in 2017.

Before moving to NR Barton, Georgia was employed at another accountancy firm in Stockport where she began studying for her ACCA qualification. Since joining NR Barton in 2020, Georgia has been studying tirelessly and it has all paid off… this week we found out that she has passed her final exam (Advanced Audit and Assurance), meaning that Georgia is now a fully-qualified Chartered Accountant (ACCA).

This is fantastic news for Georgia and another fantastic success story for the NRB Academy. We are  all so proud of you!

Jack

An avid sports fan and regular attendee of Wigan Athletic and Wigan Warriors, Jack graduated from the University of Chester in 2018 with a degree in Accounting & Finance and has worked in practice since finishing university with a wide range of clients.

Jack joined NR Barton in February 2021 as Accounts Senior and, despite joining in the midst of a national lockdown where the whole team was working from home, he has integrated within the team fantastically and has become an integral part of the workforce. He is both Xero and QuickBooks certified and is a part qualified ACCA accountant working towards his final few exams.

The number of remaining exams has now been reduced to 3 after Jack received news this week that he had passed his Strategic Business Leader exam with flying colours. This means that Jack is now one step closer to becoming a fully-qualified Chartered Accountant.

Jack has been working extremely hard studying for his exams and we are so proud of him. You are on the home stretch now!

Jack has described his experience in the NRB Academy as “helpful and supportive throughout”
