2020 has undoubtedly been a very difficult year for people, businesses, and the economy. However, as we are approaching the Christmas season, it is important that we continue to make a positive impact in the local community, despite all the doom and gloom brought upon us by the COVID-19 pandemic.
As such, here at NR Barton we have decided to share some Christmas cheer with an organization that is close to our hearts. Wigan Youth Zone (WYZ) is a purpose built youth facility in Wigan town centre which opened in June 2013; WYZ aims to provide the best possible experience and outcomes for young people in a fun, supportive, safe, inclusive and positive environment.
In the name of Christmas spirit, we are appealing to our clients, contacts and friends for gift donations to bring a smile to the faces of those less fortunate young children in the Wigan area.
As a firm, NR Barton are also going to be hosting a staff Christmas jumper day, where the proceeds will be donated to the same appeal at Wigan Youth Zone.
If you are able to spare a little time and money, please do consider getting involved. Your donations will be so appreciated and for some children, this may be the only gift they get this Christmas.
COVID-19 Precautions
At NR Barton, we like to be ‘hands-on’ with our support in the local community. However, to remain socially distant and ensure the safety of everybody involved, it is not possible to take the same approach this year.
As such, we would like to structure this appeal in a ‘contact free’ manner; we would like to politely request that only Gift Cards of £10 value are donated to ensure they can be easily posted and that the whole process can be contact-free.
Please could the gift vouchers be posted directly to Wigan Youth Zone. As a result of the latest lockdown restrictions, we are not allowed to accept visitors into the office, as much as we do love seeing our clients face to face.
The last day of our appeal is 16 December, this is because Wigan Youth Zone will need time to send the vouchers out to those children who need them before Christmas day arrives.
We would like to thank you for your consideration and contributions. We hope that together we can have a positive impact on the lives of the many children in Wigan who would otherwise go without a gift this Christmas.
