Expansion of NR Barton audit team!

Wigan based accountancy and business advisory firm NR Barton has appointed former UHY Senior Manager, Rachael Murphy, and former top ten Audit Associate Ben Thomas to strengthen the firms audit team.

Rachael brings a wealth of experience with her, gained over 15 years of working in both a local and then national practice before joining NR Barton. She has looked after a diverse portfolio of clients throughout many sectors and has previously specialised in both the automotive and education sectors.

In April 2018 Rachael won the North West Insider Young Professionals “Accountant of the Year” award, she secured the title after the judges were impressed by her client testimonials.

Ben, a former Audit Associate at Grant Thornton, previously specialised in large and complex audit work for commercial businesses of all shapes and size and public sector bodies. He has experience across multiple industries including construction, manufacturers, Travel, Technology, Retail, Charities and predominantly Councils and NHS Trusts and CCG’s.

I have followed closely the progress of the practice in recent times, and I’m delighted to be joining a firm with the reputation NR Barton holds. It’s a great opportunity to help the firm build on and enhance its audit offering to existing clients and to expand its growing client base.”

Ben’s career began at EY in Manchester in 2017, before making the switch to Grant Thornton in 2018. He has a wide range of specialist audit experience and will be augmenting the NR Barton audit offering with his skills.
