Coronavirus (COVID-19): Companies House filing deadline delay

Companies House understand the current pressures on Companies and Directors in light of the Coronavirus pandemic. As such they have agreed to extend filing deadlines by three months as a measure of support.

This extension must be applied for and is not automatic. Businesses must send their application to Companies House before their normal filing deadline. The application will need to include explanation of why the extension is needed, or how the virus has caused the delay.

Companies House will not issue a late filing penalty if the application is approved and the business files the accounts before the extended deadline.

Here is the link which only takes a minute to complete and from our experience the response seems to come through immediately.
